I also will have to get one and do either a white jacket or green. I have not got the Bible with me at the mo, so will have to wait till I get home.
    Looking very nice Geoff.

Thanks Nap, that is just what I say mate, and it's my model I will do it the way I want.

I hope to get him finished by then, tricky bit coming up, the thin lines on the lacing, I don't think my hand is steady enough for a brush so have been thinking of a coloured pencil sharpened to a chisel point like we used to do in Tech Drawing at school, will post pics after I have done a couple if it works OK.

    Cheers

Thanks Terry, the yellow does make a change, but what a target for a musket.

You get one it's a super bust but no it will not be finished tonight, we have been out all day, sorry.

    Cheers

I can see you doing at least a couple of them Bob, it just needs an infantry man in scarlet with the matching facing colour to go with it.

    Cheers mate

I cannot get the lace lines right sadly the old hand is not steady enough so they will stay the base colour, but I shall pick them out with a very thinned down dark pin-wash of artist's oils which should make them look better.

I shall try and post some more pics tomorrow.

    Cheers Geoff

I have done the pin-wash and pleased with the way it has come out, more definition now without being over done.

Will now have to leave this part alone now to let it fully dry before I whiten up the shoulder fluffy bits.

So now finish off the Shako which I have been doing while waiting for bits to dry on the tunic, then the head, which is the reverse way I usually do things.

Thanks Nap, the Shako plate is certainly a lovely bit of work raw but with some paint on it really brings out the detail.

That is an ace tunic: good shading, good call on a faded yellow and the fact that you haven't got stark, white lace.

Many thanks Guys, I hate black and white Neil, it's extremely rare to find it on any models I have done in the last ten or so years.

    Thanks again

Very nice painting indeed Geoff. You have handled the yellow very well. Much to be admired, and looking forward to the finished product.

Geoff. Thanks for the reply and the info on the 28th. Fortunately I have a copy of the Pericoli book. It is an excellent reference and my copy is well worn from use.
