My initial thought was lovely, but (and I stand to be corrected here) shouldn't the strips on the shield be on the back of it as well? I believe the strips are woven in and out of slots
There's also something not quite right about the shape of the helmet (although it may be just the photograph's giving a slightly false impression of the shape)

Both are relatively easy tweaks to make and I love the relaxed and natural feel of the figures so they probably won't stop me buying them
    Cheers
    Paul

The helmet should have 6 panels, not 4 - a really common error on many models of FS helmets.(y)

Dear friend, I appreciate your observation, from now on all my figures of this era will wear six panels in the helmet.
But I also have to point out that most brands of figures have four panels and that many of the military sheets of the best artists in the world have four panels.

Even artists can get it wrong - the panels are lines of stitching in the cotton material which covers the cork part of the helmet. The cotton is cut into six panels because this was the best use of material which prevented creases when the cover was applied to the helmet. There are compound curves on the helmet, in two directions, top to bottom and side to side. The cotton covering did not have any elasticity in it and was steamed to create a tight fit over the cork. If there were only four panels, you can imagine how difficult it would be to get a tight fit on the covering, as the material segments would be too large. Imagine how difficult it is to wrap a present with curves...!

    I hope this explains things(y)

"..Army Order 35 of 1877 stipulated six panels and was never overridden. It would have been cheaper for helmet makers to make them in six panels because of far less wastage of finishing cloth.."(y) The only reason that there may have been 4 panel versions (albeit very rare) would be private purchase.
