This is my one and only Diarama and is from my favourite period, the Wild West.

The figures are a mixture of Pegaso and Andrea, all in 54mm. The Saloon also is from Andrea, manufactured in resin and white metal. They are painted in acrylics and oils.

The base is made by myself in a box style using wood skirting from a hardware shop which is stained and varnished.

All in all this took about 6 months to make.

Thank you for looking and I would welcome any comments.

Fun piece! Looks like you had fun with this one! One thing to think about, and it's a small item; but the grass you have in the groundwork looks far too tall for me. Remember, just off that porch was "the street". It was trampled by horses, wagons and people and would likely not have that much, or that tall of tufts of grass. I might have saved the longer grass just for a few little corners of the fence here and there, but other than that all I have to say is "Yippee ki yay!"

Really nice idea for a dio and done very well, the undertaker lurking in the background is a very nice touch, mentally weighing and measuring his next customers.

Sorry David, I forgot to answer your question. The Undertaker sign came with the figure kit. It is caste in metal. The Drake and Warren sign was a paper print which came with the Saloon kit. The Long Branch Saloon I painted myself freehand as was the large Saloon written on the front boarding. I accidentely made it look old after using burnt umber oil paint over the acrylic medium brown and wiping all the excess oil paint away. A little trick which I wont forget. Thanks again for your comments.

Whoa, Nellie. . . you nailed it John. . .

    Hey John:

Aw Podna' 'er Pilgram, . . . as John Wayne used to say on the Silver screen,
you really nailed this one. What a very nice diorama. . . and you have gotten
that elusive "feel of the Wild West" in Heartland America, . . . i.e. Dodge City,
Salina, Ks. Wichita, Ks, . . . Tombstone, Arizona, etc. etc.

A very nice effort and not that easy with all those figures to have to interact
together and create a scene. Very well done. Congratulations, John,
