Hi all, thought I'd post this before I do my usual and overwork it.
A great bust from Andrea, full of character and challenges.
Still ploughing along trying to get the hang of digital photography.
Any comments and advice most welcome....have to say I'm really enjoying this one.

Always oils Joe. I've tried acrylics a few times with miserable results

That is looking superb mate. I really like your flesh tones - what mix did you use as a base colour please? I know it is only W.I.P., so you might have this covered but the left inner ear looks like it needs a bit more attention.

You're right Richie, it's only the face and neck that are finished (although I've got an urge to add sweat) everything else still has a fair way to go,
Nothing fancy about the flesh tone......Base coat - Valejo Desert Sand with a very light stain of flesh mix (Titanium White, Yellow Ochre, touch of Cad Red. Madder Brown, a tiny bit of Raw Umber) all W&N.

looking good so far ..i like the weathering on the helmet and the deep orange-brown skin tones as he spent a lot of days sayling under the sun in a very long piratesque campaign...
