I was mucking about with my camera yesterday trying out different settings etc, and used the unfinished bust ( previously posted on this site ) .I thought i may as well post it again.

The skintone is stunning, but I am most impressed by the rich layers of shading on the hat. Is that done by airbrushing, Brian?

    Hi Marc
I used an aculite light for the picture but i've used a strip flourescent light at times.
The camera was placed about 2 feet away from the bust on a mini tripod.
The settings for the camera were Macro on ,exposure -0.3EV ,white balance set on auto, flash off,and used timer.
The background colour can have a major effect on the final results so it's always worth trying different colour backgrounds.
My set up is kept very simple.

    Hi Michael
The hat was undercoated with humbrol enamel and painted with oils, all done with a brush.

    Thanks Brian.
Gonna experiment with the -0.3 EV...Maybe its possible that i should not correct much with PS to compensate the sometimes overexposure.
    This could be a solution.
Have you ever try a customset white balance.
    I was thinking about that.
