    Grettings,
This is the first time I've tried to post any of my work. Still learning! This won a gold at MFCA last weekend. Great show. Any comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rod

Very good painting. I think the pictures don't do justice.

Really nice painting - amazing detail on the gold braid and drum designs. Think the images are pretty good too IMHO.

Thanks for everyone's comments. Keith, it is a 1/32 scale Historex conversion, with the saddlecloth, drum banners from scratch. The pinkish color is actually a shade of crimson using various mixes of dark red, scarlet with crimson, with a touch of
sunny skin flesh color for the high highlights. It was a fun project to do, and I love to paint gold lace!

    Thanks again,
    Rod

    Hello Rod.
I am doing the same subject with Metal Modeles horse and spare parts, with the exception of Historex drums, and a large amount of scratch.
Just discovered your work which is a source of inspiration but also pressure...

Missed this earlier in the year but it’s looking really good, combining an over-the-top uniform with a tough-looking individual.

I'm pleased that people are still buiding Historex after all these years. Superb job Rd.

Thanks to everyone's comments. It means a lot! Go to the Virtual Museum of Historical Miniatures, it has a very nice picture of him. Much better than what I posted.

    Best Regards,

    Rod
