    Hi Folks,
I started a new project inspired by the French Indian War. Reading about the subject I ran into the amazing story of Mary Jamison but about her story a little bit later.
Tartar Miniatures released a while ago, a vignette capturing the drama leaved by the frontier inhabitants.
As usually, I started creating a 3D sketch to define the composition. Here is the starting point:

I wasn't to happy with the bolder behind the figures and I decided to change it with a tree twisted from wire. I changed also the elevation for the tree to give more height to the whole display.

Most likely, Tartar Miniatures was inspired to create this vignette from Robert Griffing's painting "The Taking of Mary Jamison 1758".

You can find Mary Jamison's story here. It is fascinating.

After the composition was set, I started painting the 2 characters.
    Here is the warrior:

    Here is the lady:

Still I have to work few details, weathering and the warriors weapons.
Here are the 2 characters together.

Thanks for watching and your feedback is much appreciated.

I love Robert Griffings art work. I am working on a little scene of four Iroquois Indians which is inspired by his book and the movie "Last of the Mohegans". I will watch your thread with interest. It is coming along very nicely. Nice base and interesting groundwork. The figures are looking real good.

Great start Zeno! As usual I expect your groundwork to be top drawer. The story of the vignette will be obvious. You've done a great job on the painting so far.

    Following along

Thank you very much for the fantastic feedback!
I'm glad that you like what I did so far. I'm working on the female character - there are few things which must be addressed - and then I'll start the groundwork. The tree will be a challenge.
    I'll keep you updated.
Cheers, dear friends and thanks again!
