Yesterday I received a copy of this excellent reference from Verlag Militaria. It's up to this publisher's usual high standards with beautiful photography, informative text and explanations of uniforms, field equipment and weapons. That's the up side. The down side is that it is pricey! $112.00* US or 99.00* Euros. Even for a definitive reference of this quality that's expensive.

Attached is the Verlag Militaria advert for the book and scans of five more or less random pages just to convey the quality of the photos and printing.

In terms of content, uniforms and equipment of cavalry, infantry, artillery, engineering, transport, administrative service, gendarmerie, Garde Civique, medical service and POWs are included for the 1914 uniforms. The Appendix provides a photocopy of both the 1915 and 1917 uniform regulations. For the khaki uniforms worn from 1915 until 1918, most of the same corps content is covered and more color photos are provided as well as sections on the Patrouilleurs (volunteer recon and shock troops), sniper scouts, gas protection and officers khaki uniforms.

In a section entitled On All Fronts - aviation, the navy, the armored car expeditionary forces in Russia and the Force Publique in the Belgian Congo are included. Nifty!

Another very high quality reference text from Verlag Militaria!

    All the best,
    Dan
