Hi Guys, Now recovering from a eye issue earlier this year, it made me realise what a wonderful thing sight is & you never appreciate it until it is taken away, (albeit a short time in my case :nailbiting: ) it is time to start a new figure & Richie of 1879 timed it right to send me this great new release from his range.
I have started a WIP thread on his great new figure set 'Steady Lad' .
I received the figures on Saturday morning, cut & prepped them Saturday night, assembled on Sunday morning & primed Sunday night to check them over. That's how easy & simple they were to clean up & assemble. So here is the primed figures & nicely set on a wood base from Rob & Rona of Oakwood studio bases.
So here we go on this merry go round...:)[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Let me know what you think, Guys, Mark D ;)

Great to hear that your vision is on the mend Mark, always a worry when your lights are on the blink.
Looking forward to seeing how you deal with this beauty from Richie.

    Me too (on both counts).

I really like this pair of figures. Richie, how about a Bob Hoskins "Zulu Dawn" piece ("watch yer markers watch yer markers, adjust yer sights!!")?!

Great piece. The boy looks like a boy. Too often a sculpted boy looks like a micro man or some sort of troll. Great piece. Glad you see your way clear to paint it.

This is an interesting period and a great sculpt. I am going to sit back and join this one.
    Looks a pleasure to paint.

Off to a great start. Love the expression on the older chap. Calm but knowing this could be it. A true professional soldier.

    Hi Bob,
I suppose you could easily cut a range marker from balsa and fit it to the right hand and give it another dimension.
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi Mark,
Nice progress mate and I love the way the facial expressions are enhanced with some colour on.(y) I suppose I should say, keep those brushes moving & make sure your brush hand is "Steady Lad":D
    cheers
