Hi all,

I'm finally calling this one done, although I've only just noticed some turquoise paint on his inner left thigh in the photos. Oh well, he'll have to stay like that.

He's based on the character played by Andy Whitfield (RIP) in the Starz network TV series. He is painted in water mixable oils (over acrylic undercoats) which I've been using for a while now and I'm starting to get the hang of them although my painting still looks a bit scrappy in areas (imo). I seem to struggle a bit with getting neat edges between colours. I'm hoping that refinement will come with practice and my future pieces will look a bit neater. Metallics are done with printers ink (my first time). The base is from Andrea and groundwork is kiln sand over ready-mixed polyfilla.
