Hi all, thought I would post this to get some views on a different technique I
have been playing around with. Only the metals are paint, (Vallejo). All other areas are finished using either pastels, water colour pencils, powders or SFX makeup. Each effect is sealed between applications. Hard work, but I am still developing the techniques. Let me know what you think.
A BIG thank you to Steve at SK for his efforts in resolving a couple of minor issues with the figure. Top notch service as always mate.

    Cheers

    Ron

Awesome results, very nice indeed. You'll have to share an SBS on how you did it if you care to.

Hi Ron. The result shows that your new techniques are perfectly valid. The tones of the face and clothes are fine. With respect to metals,I like them but maybe you have put too much oxide effect?

A beautifully finished figure. It is however worth rememebering that all knights had at least one squire whose job was to ensure that all his kit was spotless and rust free. Armour would have been burnished until it shone, and swords and daggers burnished and sharpened. This was especially true for senior members of the aristocracy and royalty.

    Happy modelling,

    Mike

A lovely piece of work Ron. Very subtly done. I especially like how you have rendered the cocks head on the top of the great helm. It really looks like it is made of wood. Well done Sir.(y)

Thank you all for your response to this figure and the experimental techniques I have
tried on it. Really not happy with them fully yet, but your reception tells me it is worth
    refining.
Eduardo and Michael, I fully accept and respect your points. I tried to give him a 'down on his luck' look. Jaded would best describe him I guess. However,if I am honest, I could not compete with those of you who have the skill, and eyesight to render heraldic decoration
to show him at his most aristocratic. Really pleased you all took the time to look and comment.

    Regards

    Ron
