    Hello everyone.
I want to report that we had a small site: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
This site is built on a free platform, so it is "strange looking".

Hello I am a collector of Spain, who paid the mark MGM Miniatures, in April 2015, 54 € for the purchase of three of his references and not have sent me, and I returned the money,
nor answer my emails for over two months ago. I do public for anyone to buy them anything they do not comply with their orders.

A shame that there appear to be issues with this seller, because the pieces themselves look very nice.

They are very nice indeed - and that's why I am pretty sure that the pieces will surface up one day, unless they land in private collections and disappear.

This happened with Alexander (note, NOT Alexandros) models, which defrauded their customers and then later sold masters to another company, which denied any knowledge of any previous issues and continued to bring the figures to the market.

I paid for a figure from MGM but did not receive it, and I had to claim a refund from Paypal.

Burned but received my refund from Paypal :) Pissed but if a legit company has the masters and were to release them later, I would be interested.

Hey OGR, what gives???? You advertised the Soviet Assault Engineer figure several months ago. I ordered one, you assured me it was on the way. Several weeks later it did not arrive. I also was able to get a refund from Paypal. If you cannot ship the figures you already had orders and took payment for, why in the heck are you back here, with the same empty promises.

Do us all a favor....either take care of business or go away.

ANYONE BUY NOTHING TO MARK ARE MGM SWINDLERS !!!!!
  10. Vader12 Member

I bought their WW1 Stormtrooper. never delivered. Multiple messages and got 1 reply that it was at the post office waiting to send out. It never arrived and I eventually got a PayPal refund.
I agree with all the others above. Do not buy from this seller. It's unfortunate because the figures look pretty good.

We got refunded yes, but I am surprised to see this guy still listed as "active member" on this forum, after he has ripped of several members of this forum! Shouldn't he be banned, as I suppose that's what would be done to recasters which are in the same league, ie thieves!

Unfortunately, I have this guy the benefit of the doubt and did not file my claim within the window. It was not a lot of coinage, but I continue to be annoyed. He is a crook.

I take your point. However, it's quite possible that other members have ordered figures from this guy and that he's actually delivered. Although we have no way of knowing either way, it could be that the negative comments on this thread reflect only the experiences of a minority of customers (most people - myself included - tend to make the most noise when they've been let down), and that their disappointment can be blamed more on a combination of poor service, a slapdash & slipshod approach to running a business, and the vagaries of the Russian postal service, rather than out-and-out thievery. And for that reason, an outright ban at this stage may be excessive - unjustified even.

However, there clearly have been some problems with this company, so a very prominent warning is now displayed to help folks make their own informed decision about whether or not to take a punt on ordering stuff from them. Blatant, proven dishonesty by any vendor or member will not be tolerated, and will result in them being shown the door. And the future activities of MGM Miniatures on here will be monitored closely. As said above, it's a shame that these problems have arisen because the pieces look excellent.

Putting up this warning is a first step in the right direction. However, it would be nice to hear members of this forum who dealt positively with Mr. Ogr take his defense or better still to hear from the man himself, as he is still a member here he could surely speak up for himself! As for the vagaries of the Russian postal service, it really isn't worse than the Royal mail or Belgian post for that matter. And yes, complaints may come from a minority, but looking closely at the choice of subjects offered, anyone can see that they appeal to a minority per se!

I don't really think that these subjects are "minority" subjects any more than most other manufacturer's figures are. In fact most of them look pretty "mainstream" to me, with a good "something for most folks" mix of subjects.

And as for the Russian postal service, I disagree that it's no worse than in the UK or Belgium. There are customs issues and delays for a start, and I've also had an order from Russia vanish into the ether (from another company, not MGM). I think the fact that a lot of sellers on eBay won't post to Russia (and Italy) also tells you something.

I do agree that it would be very useful to also hear from anyone who has had good experiences trading with this company, although it appears that "Ogr" himself is only an infrequent visitor here - which could be part of the problem.

I'm not going to name names (although fellow AFV enthusiasts will probably have a good idea who I'm talking about), but in the AFV modelling community there is a company that has been the subject of many similar compliants and accusations on the AFV forums to those expressed in this thread. This company too is a "one man band" with a dismal reputation in terms of service and for "taking the money and running".

However, the proprietor isn't a thief. He's just got a very haphazard approach to running his business, and not much concept of customer service. Hence the many and loud complaints he gets. Nevertheless he pitches up as a trader at UK shows, people who order kits off him pretty much always get their stuff (eventually), and those that don't get them end up with a refund (eventually). And in view of this I'm prepared to give "Ogr" the benefit of the doubt ... for now.

But make no mistake, MGM Miniatures has now been red-flagged and will be closely watched. It's now up to him to put his house in order if he wants to continue using pF to market his figures.

    Steve:

As you'll see from posting above, I am one of the 'minority' who had negative dealings with this guy. Appreciating the fact that most companies are small operations and the owners are balancing a business with most likely a 'real' day job while appeasing a niche market (we happy band of brothers!), I have and will continue to give all dealers the benefit of the doubt when it comes to delivery of products. I have had great success with numerous companies in North America, Europe and Asia. Yes, there have the rare glitches over the years with late delivery (3 weeks) and broken/missing parts. However, in EVERY case, the company responded immediately and made good on their promises and in return, I continue to give them my business and trust.

With MGM, I was taking into consideration where the busts were coming from and I would have accepted excuses for the delays. However, after numerous unanswered emails (~30) and several months, my goodwill was finished. I'm guessing even the Russian postal service can make good on deliveries in less than 4 months. Ogr was very attentive to answer all questions on the products, cost and delivery up to when I made the payment. After that....Silence! I agree, it 'looked' like a great line but bottom line the man is a crook. No insult nor flame war (do we still use this term;)) intended mate, but if you feel the man is being maligned and unfairly treated, then by all means purchase from him but 'Buyer Beware'.

Sorry Steve.....but with not one single positive comment to his credit......you are doing the members a disservice by not banning him (MGM)..........simply giving him (MGM) the benefit of the doubt......and allowing him the room to continue on PF.....takes away his need to rectify the situation.....he sees us as an easy mark

Indeed Paul. Pretty much the essence of my prominent warning notice about this company at the top of the thread. ;)

And Ron I'm sorry if you think that I'm "doing the members a disservice", because I had hoped that by flagging Ogr/MGM (in all of his vendor threads) as a vendor to beware of and marking his card for the future, I was in fact doing the opposite.

But in the interests of fair play, IMVHO I think that Ogr should have the opportunity to respond to this criticism and - if he is a genuine trader - put things right. Which is something he wouldn't be able to do if I just unceremoniously escorted him from the premises without further ado.

That said, I've now also put this out to the other mods for their thoughts. I'm just one of a team of 5 and if the consensus is that this guy should go, I'll go along with that.

OGR! this is how it is. you have 24 hours to explain yourself and let the members of this forum know why you have not sent the products even though you have taken and continue to take payments and make false promises.

If there is no response this time tomorrow then your account will be deleted and you will be blocked from selling or participating in this forum.
