The nobleman is finally done and is the second of three figures for the Tavern scene by Romeo.
He was glued with five minute epoxy which is my usual for metal figures. nobleman20edt.jpg

The light yellowish marks on the boots are light reflection, there is not anything there. He will not beplaced on any base as he will go straight on the Tavern scene. I am working on the Quartermaster and the Tavern together. There is a lot of assembly for the tavern. I have ordered a wood base
from the "Hussar" in Oklahoma City, OK. 6" by 7" by 1.5" and then a decorative black base on the bottom. This will give plenty of depth to drill for the pegs in the legs and give a good anchor for the figures.

The challenge was the freehand work and I thank Olga for her SBS's as I used her methods. The inside of the cloak I made orange to tie into the L'Olonnaise figure already done.

The palatte for the cloak decorations after the base coats were done and touch ups.
The shadows were enhanced with a glaze of Burnt umber.

Let me know if you would be interested in the Tavern make up and progression, in a similar format.?
All comments and suggestions are welcome and encourages.
Thanks for taking the time to look.
    Cheers

Very, very nice indeed John. Superbly detailed brushwork. You must have a very steady hand, and a great deal of patience.

Would you please give a link to Olga's SBS?

Absolutely great job. I have this one and the d'Ollonnais figures to do, but have been afraid to tackle the embroidered clothing. I am thinking after seeing your work that it is time to consult my wife's expertise about European clothing and finally take the plunge and have a go at these two.

    The link is as follows:

Remember this is just a method and is applied at a smaller scale in my case. My pattern was in a prior post and I much simplified it. Added some lines and dots and circles where I thought lookesd good.
I used a piece of small hollow tubing to paint the small circles. dipped the tubing in the paint and then touched to the cloak to make circles or part circles.
