    Hello Friends,

here are some pics of my latest work I started about three weeks ago.

It is a Roman Aquilifer, 90mm. The Figure was inspired by a late work of Adrian Bay and it was one of my dreams to realize a figure like that.

The Roman is nearly finished, I just have to do some cleaning works and a little bit work on the cheek protectors. I also sculpted two heads. The first I did is the right one - the scond one is the screaming face. There is some work to be done, too. But I think I will finish the whole piece this night.

    Hope you like it.

    Cheers,
    Markus

    Markus,
REALLY nice! I love the action in the pose and the proportions look spot-on. I particularly like the hands! Nice work! Is this going to be available commercially?

@Jay: Thank you very much for your kind comment. I´m glad you like this little Roman.
But I´m sorry, because this one wasn`t planned as a commercial...it was planned as a single piece for my own collection.

@Artur: My friend, lots of thanks for looking and commenting. Nice to hear, that you like this little piece of work. Sorry again, it wasn`t planned as a commercial...perhaps the next one...

@Marc: Thanks again !!! I always appreciate your supporting comments !!!

Hi Markus, the detail of the eagle and the crowd is stunning, I love it.
Another interesting thing is how you made separated parts, it's something I always admire.

@Maurizio: Thank you very much for your feedback and your compliments !!!! I really appreciate it. About the ring of leaves: It was not the simpliest datail I have sculpted until today...

@Luca: Thank you so much. I´m glad you like this little Roman. :) About the seperate parts: That is the hardest thing for me, too. But the figis must be painted....and it looks like I don`t have to do it at this figure...

@Marc: Thanks for your kind comment. I´m looking forward to see this one painted, too. About the arrows: The basics are sanded shish-kebab spears. Then I added clear film pieces to simulate the feathers. I have done them some times ago. Today I would take some wire to create the arrows.

@Mauricio: Thank you very much for your comment. I´m really glad you like it and I will give my best to become a good finish.

@Jose Luis: Thank you so much. I´m glad you like this little Roman.

    ----------

But now I have to redo the base...a german Historican told me that the base is not realistic in this way. So the arrows will be be taken away, also the wooden plugs. And then I will add a shield with a twisted pilum in it....

    The best wishes,
    Markus

    Markus,

This is a really nice base. But i liked the first more. Pitty that it is historically incorrect as they say.
Well, this will do the great figure also justice.

@ArturM: Thank you very much Artur, I´m glad you like the idea.

@Arthur: Thanks a lot, I´m glad you like it.

@Marc: Thank you very much, too. The first base was my favorite, too. But what should I do...I want to be as close as possible at the historically correctness...

Thank you all again. I always appreciate your feedbacks !!!

    Kind regards,
    Markus
