    Hi everyone!

I've just started this wonderfull bust from FeR. I think Fernando Ruiz Ceano did a wonderfull job, I hope finish a decent version. I'll try to represent a pilot just arrived after a mission, so he'll be a little "dirty".
    Cheers,
    Nicolae

Warm thanks, Andrew! I tried to put together all three pieces (head, scarf and body), in order to see their general aspect. Still a lot to do to every piece.
    Cheers,
    Nicolae

    Hi Nicolaos

Now that's really coming together now ( I put the picture on the thread so I could look better! )

Are you putting lens into the goggles ?

How did you do the dirty face effects ?

Think if I painted it I would do the scarf in his school/university colours to break up the leathers a bit

    Looking forward to more

    Thanks for sharing

    Hi Kevin!

Sorry to answer you so late!
    1. Yes, I'll put the lens, I tried it once, but I failed, it was a tough exercise.
    2. The dirty is made with some pigment, Carbon Black from Vallejo. No wet brush, just stippling with a fine brush 00. And a little more on the nose. You can easily notice the difference between fine spots on cheeks and the big on the nose! You can play as much as you like it.
    3. The scarf is not finished yet (I combined some Light Orange, Golden Yellow from Vallejo Model Colour with some Birch from Scale75 on a mix with Black -VMC, Electric Blue-VGA and a bit of Birch), also the other pieces, I tried only to assemble all pieces to see how it looks.
Very interesting your suggestion with the scarf, thanks a lot, I'll keep in my mind for the next projects (the RFC pilot from MJ Miniatures is scheduled too :)).
    Warm thanks,
    Nicolae

    Hi Kevin!

I'll use some dirt, but, somehow, due to the position of the pilot in the plane, we know the scarfs, protecting the mouth and the nose, were those usually more dirty than the jackets (however, I'll not make very dirty the scarfs). I tried to have in my mind these things as I worked to this project.
Warm thanks for your kind interest!
