    Hi all

I have 2 photos of General Montgomery at the time of D'day. It shows that medal ribbons are worn attached to his battle dress over the left breast. I need to know what their shapes and colors are in detail..

Is there anyone who can figure it out???

    Hi there ,

Montys medal eh ..blimey thats a great question as every picture I have seen has a different number of rows so I think there was a"standard" set he wore ...aparently a lot of it was at the whim of his batman.

Certainly the picture by Salisbury with the leather coat has at least 7/8 rows on mw04484.jpg , the pictures shown have a set of 4 rows.

    Googling....comes up with this th.jpg

Hi Kevin and Pte 1643, Many thanks for giving me such a helpful info.

I think that the 4th row of ribbons in this newly attached photo is the same thing in the lower Black and White "Battledress" photo

Could you recognize what they are??? large.jpg
