Despite having about a dozen flats in progress I couldn't resist making a start on this beautiful lady from Ulrich Puchala.

Being an infrequent painter of busts this is proving quite a challenge but at the same time a lot of fun.

A couple of work in progress shots, any advice is most welcome ;)

Roger, a great start on a great bust. IMHO spot on with the female complexion. Will follow.(y)

Cheers Ken, I think I'll do a bit more to the face and then stop and ask for some advice. I don't want to go too far and muck it up. I want it to remain subtle, as befits a princess :D.

Very smooth work there Roger. I think you've got the fair complexion spot on.

Cheers Carl, the female form is much nicer to paint than smelly 'ol pongo's :D

Don't be like that, or we'll have to mention the "Golden rivet".;)

Lol, put a sailor cap on "Stagging on" and it'll look like he's found it. :)

Another one before back to work???

I think we will have later two different versions and we had much fun to paint that little lady.

Your face looks good and I can´t wait to see your version.

    Roger,
She looks absolutely stunning - think you've captured the turn of the century look perfectly. Will definitely follow this with interest....

Lovely start Roger. One imagines her complexion would be quite pale and smooth.

Thanks Tony, that's how I imagine her too.

I don't think I want to do much more to her face than this... however i'm open to suggestions.

    Good work Roger.
I think you have to fade out the colors and then you are finished with the skin.
BTW, a great skincolor for a lady.

    Roger.

Paint the helmet and the collar black and you can see better if the face is ready or not. The black changes the colour of the face.

Could it be that you have the same problems with the eyes as me? They look a bit different

Marc, Mark & Ulrich, thanks. All suggestions considered. I've left the face for now and will paint the headgear and collar and then return to it.

    Further progress

I've started work on the colpack and undercoated the coller.
