Just a "little" something I've been working on, Pegaso's 200mm Praetorian Guardsman.
Painted in acrylics, I've used Jo Sonja's texture paste on the cloak, to give the appearance of rough wool.
The bronze armour and shield boss painted with paints from Darkstar Miniatures "Molten Metal' range, for my money, the best metallic paint on the market. Shield design from Stephen Dando-Collin's excellent book "legions of Rome", which has all the shield designs of the Imperial Legions.

    Superb work Graham!

I want to do this figure also, great job... excellent work on the shield design, that is very well done.

I'll have to get those Darkstar Miniatures metal colours, I saw Tommi recommends them also in another thread.

    Cheer's,
    Jeff.

    Thanks Guys.
Jeff those paints are great. absolutely grainless and ideal for fine work and a great range of colours.
Kev the texture paste is slow drying. You've probably got about 3-4 minutes to work it, and a few hours to dry properly. With the right brush and persistent application, you could probably use it for kits down to 75mm. And it dries dead flat.

This is the texture paste and a few old brushes used in a stippling motion, to re-create the look of rough wool on the cloak DSCN2749.JPG
