Hello all. I just finished up this marvelously sculpted mounted kit from Pili Pili as a Christmas gift to my wife. My wife actually bought this kit for me back at world expo 2005 (Boston) but quite honestly I did not have the balls to tackle it til now. She is painted in all freehand using Vallejo acrylics and believe me, this was quite a challenge with all these colors that are basically foreign to me. Thanks to Al Lafleche for help with ideas for the groundwork.

Wonderful paintwork, what mix did you use for the skin tones ? I have a couple of these figures in the pipe line and was puzzling over the skin colour. As a BTW that's one solemn looking kid standing there, great job.

hi Steve. These are all vallejo colors I'm giving you so here goes. medium fleshtone, burnt cadmium red, flat brown, brown rose, orange brown, dark sand and cavalry brown. No specific ratios, I just mixed them up until I had a base tone that I was satisfied with. I mixed more medium fleshtone with the base to get the midtone hi-lites and then I mixed the mid tone hi-lites with basic skintone to get the lightest hi-lites. Thanks for your comment.

Hi John. Thanks for the comment on the horse. First one I have ever done so I was unsure about how it would be received.
