    Hello friends,
I finally dive into this very beautiful figure ... a "premiere" for me as i never worked on any white metal figure before.
Assembly is far from the new generation resin ones but, old school got to the rescue here :) i had to work a lot with my Ol' trusty Dremel, pin parts etc. finally i used an automotive red oxyde primer to be sure that it will stick to the metal. so here i am and i have to admit that it was a pleasing day at the bench :)
painted in Acrylics (prince August and GW)

All your comments are very welcomed as usual ... bad or good : shoot ! :)

hello Friends, here are my progresses so far, I never thought that an helmet could be so long to paint ... lol.
I tried myself at NMM painting ... still not sure of the result, your advices will be of a great help !
I started a base too for him as i didn't wanted to ruin the paintwork doing this later :)

ps : merci Alexandre, j'ai pas mal de photos que j'avais faites à l'expo Samourais a Québec ;) mais au cas ou je te ferai signe !

And a special note about samurai armour : japanese mail was black lacquered and not in its natural state like european mail.
Of course, you do not have to be that historically accurate.

Thanks a lot Alex, i was going for a black mail but you confirm my references :)

A beautiful start continued with an equally beautiful scond step.Alex is of course totally correct. All metal surfaces of Japanese armour are always covered in lacquer which is sometimes quite difficult to represent in miniature in a way that will be understood by non specialists Another thing is that Japanese mail is VERY,VERY different than its European counterpart.Always butted (except when actual European mail was used, called Nanban gusari by the Japanese i.e Southern barbarian chain),with rings a lot smaller than western mail and connected to each other in more than one ways giving each variety a different name e.g asa no ha gussari, seiro gusari etc.It was also always mounted (sewn) on fabric and then applied, never hanging loose on its own.

Now that i am back at home, i made some progress on my Samurai, mainly started to work the red on the armor.
I'm not where i want to go with this but it slowly begins to look like what i have in mind :)
