The story so far with the Pegaso Mirmillo bust.
Still even now fixing things about it.
I had to drill most of the eyelet holes making sure I didn't rupture any of them.
    Bloomin nightmare.

The bronze looks fabulous! Also, the overall appearance is MUCH better without those 2 feathers from the earlier post. Great progress.

Pegaso quality is not what it should be a bust at fifty five quid + postage
to my mind should be about perfect the hussar bust has a lot of air pin holes every button,
which I didnt notice evan after priming only after painting on the printers ink did it show" bloody panic" had to rub the buttons flat to sort.

    Helm and plum looks great

Couldn't agree more, I got mine for 43 quid all in and the same thing. Only when paint is applied you notice the pinholes. I queried whether it was a recast as it was so poorly produced.
I wish I'd done a review on this less than bad quality bust.
It's a total rip off for the money. I emailed Pegaso saying I wasn't too chuffed..guess what? No reply! Not even I'm sorry we sold you a crap piece.

Youngs are much cheaper and far superior so I know where my money will be going from now.
    Rant over,
Ta for comments but I still think the feathers will be going on.

Hi Grant, looks great so far mate, just a quick thought though, some years back I had to make feathers for a project n used feathers from a feather duster but what I did was to spray paint it , cut it into shape with the hard bit down the middle reinforced with wire, then you paint it any way you please even pulling the feather strands apart to add realism. mine was for 1/16 so should work in this scale
    Hope this helps

    Interesting Sam, got any pics?
The feathers are as red as the plume. What I'll to is bring them out to the side rather than have them swept back and I'm sure it will look good with the plume red also.

Have i missed some thing are the feathers missing or damaged.
If so hears a thought I also tie trout flies and use a lot of varying types of feathers
you could use the very small feather from a reasonable hen cape brush with a white glue solution and then paint, a bit like using dressing gose to simulate cam netting if yuo are stuck I will send you a few to try.

    Hi Ron,
I got those red feathers from an angler who ties flies also.
So I guess they would pretty much the same but i'll look in my local angling shop to see what he has.
    Many thanks,
    Grant

Grant, love the way the bronze has turned out.
The whole piece is looking great, I'm looking forward to seeing the final result.

P.S Must say I'm surprised to hear about the trouble you've had re casting.I'm used to Pegaso products being very high quality.

    Ta for comments guys.
It was Stiff aka Mark Stothard who must take the credit for the Bronzing.
He gave me the technique to try it.
    Gells.
