    Hello my Friends.
I know I paint quick and others don't.
But what gets me is the way people spout about how many hours such and such a figure took to paint.
I mainly see this by people selling figures on ebay.
The painter of the figure pictured claims it took 69 hours to paint.
    My question is.
Does it really matter how long it took to paint a figure?.
    All the best.
    Ralph.

The simple answer is, in my opinion, no it doesn't matter. If our paying for a figure it's the end result that counts. If it's for your own enjoyment, well, that's what it is, for your own enjoyment.

I cant see that the time has any relevance, IMO, unless you are paying the painter by the hour!(y)

    Totally agree Steve:).
I hope no one sees this as 69 hours will turn into 100 hours:inpain:.:).

I don't even want to know how many hours I take to paint one and most defintely not how many hours to paint my whole stash...too much of a reality check!

I do not think it really matters if you are painting it for your enjoyment. Many years back it could take me a couple of months to paint a 90mm figure due to work and family commitments. I now have more time to paint so can spend anything from 1 to two weeks several hours a day painting a piece, depends how the mood and enthusiasm takes me. The bust below took me about one week working on it several hours a day but I was quite enthusiastic about it.

    Well said Tommi:).
I don't think about the time I work on a kit only that it keeps my mind occupied.
Had a bid on ebay for this bust.

Yer Roger thanks, Ernie is eating into my painting time ATM as he need a lot of training and attention, he has not had the best start in life so we are giving him the very best of care, just bloody knackered with all the walking etc. No painting hours in yet today but now going to grab a couple of hours now before Jo gets in from work.

I have the enthusiasm atm but not the time.

    Cheers

That`s tight Ralph, if you enjoy painting the piece and happy with the end result no matter how long it takes then that`s all that matters
