2014.11.06-12.jpg may I ask to the sculptor why this guy has 5 laces on the dolman sleeves ( rank of colonel) and three on the pelisse sleeves ( captain... not exactly the same as the colonel) starting from a painting where the guy was a lieutenant ( 2 laces)?

a little more accuracy cannot be better?

the web is full of good documents, a small search can help

    anyway good painting

No internet searching of rank required for this one Ivo, the rank is irrelevant, it's a two year old thread and hundreds will have been sold...it's all too late.

Rather than produce yet another slavish copy of the painting where the effective viewpoint is from the right rear quarter and below, as you have demonstrated with your beautiful copy...

Obviously with a Bust you can't look at it from below and as it is inspired by, not a copy of the same figure, Carl Reid has opened up the sculpt to offer more display angles.
if you look at the photos again the figure swivels leaving the eagle plate at the front.

I think that the rank is relevant... I don't know if you have been in the army but is difficult to accept that the same guy has different rank attribute on the same uniform.

is the case of the sculpt you have painted. there are many other historical mistakes on this figure but they need more knowledge...

I only focused on a contradictory sculpt difference between dolman sleeves and pelisse sleeves...

Yes, I wore my country's uniform for 13 years Ivo.l, but that's history now.

As I said earlier..... it's irrelavent and I'm still really not sure what your point is.

It's 2 years too late to denigrate the sculpt.

    But thanks anyway.

    Paul.

    I AM NOT REBUILDING IT ! ! ! !

Ivo....sigh....look...continuing to post on a dead thread makes you look, not for the first time on this forum,

Like a man determined to try and score a goal after the game is over and everyone's gone home.

I feel like the groundkeeper waiting for you to get off the pitch quite frankly.

Please do not continue to spoil this thread.

Any more future tedious posts are unwelcome.

    Clear?
