Hello my friends. Charles Flahaut is finished and I´m beginning to paint new figure from Latorre. Northumbrian warrior, 8th-9th C.
My friend made cloak from Green Stuf(Duro). He is very skilful ;) :D

    ....some photos of course :D

I hope you will see that I am trying to give you some good advice...

I agree the addition of the cloak enhances the appearance of the figure.
My experience fighting in them is that it´s even hotter work than wearing just padding and mail. Also cloaks get in the way in all kinds of ways.
So I soon dropped wearing mine if I was going to exert myself.
They would however certainly be worn whilst out in bad weather, travelling and during night watches.

The weight of a cloak like this pulls it tight up against the throat.
If you can get your friend to move that brooch accordingly this will look even better.

Very nice conversion! The figure looks much better so.
Spike! You are right, but I don't know this warior has just began to deal with the fight or he is in the watch? He is very calm, or not?

    Cheers,

Thats a nice looking paint job.
On this one it´s plausible that the effect of the weight of the shield on its strap over his shoulders is preventing the cloak from slipping up to his throat.

Looking forward to seeing yours painted, Taiko.

i think the cloack needs more work. After priming it looks a bit rough
Wet and dry sand paper should do the trick
