Norman Standard Bearer - Hastings 1066

    Hi Guys,finished this piece back in august and just putting the finishing touches to it,i'm thinking of entering it at Euro Militaire this year,would be nice to get your views before putting it before the judges in a couple of weeks,all comments and critisism accepted,the figure is from ELITE and is 70mm scale painted in my usual oils over acrylics,hope you like it!:cool::cool:

    Brian , excellent painting and a great subdued colour choice for the clothing. Great job on the shield but for me the eye catching thing is the groundwork, very welll done with the bloody stakes in the ground. Look forward to seeing it at Euro. (y)

    I like this guy, I particularly like the ground work. Whatever you did makes for a very realistic presentation. I don't see any reason not to enter afterall you still get to keep the figure even if you don't medal :)

    The groundwork and colouring really match the sombre mood of the period! It's a good piece, give it a go!

    Many thanks guys for your coments i'm very grateful indeed,there are too many of you to name individually but once again many thanks,i look forward to seeing some of you at Euro,this will be my 18th time visiting Euro and i'm more excited now than i was when i first went,i dont get the chance to log on alot as i work away from home,for those attending Euro this year i hope you enjoy the show and good luck to all my fellow modelers who will be entering the competition.
