    Hey folks,

I started this little beauty today in preperation for a theme night at my local IPMS club later this month entitled "Crimea, Past & Present". She needs to be ready for the 25th so I really ought to get my skates on. It doesn't help that I'm on my annual visit to Scotland this week so I'm away from my bench and painting "in the field" as it were.

I primed and undercoated the bust with Jo Sonja acrylics before I left and this week I will be mostly getting some oils onto her and then hopefully finishing her off when I get back home next weekend. I started this morning laying down some basic flesh tones on her face and this afternoon I hope to get started on the hair.

    Here are some progress pics:

Comments and critique are most welcome.

And now she goes back to bed till tomorrow, or Tuesday - depends on how the paint cures, I miss my hot box :(

Looking good. Did you decide against installing her stray whisps of hair?

I left them at home Colin. I didn't think they would survive the journey and my cack-handed approach to painting so I decided to leave them off till I get back home then Ill try and blend them in as best as I can.

Realised this afternoon that I haven't brought any metallics with me (acrylic or printers ink) so embroidery will have to wait (unless I decide to have a go at NMM, hmmm.......)
