What a joy to paint, no filling and fit of parts are very good.
The flesh is barely dry but he has been glued in and the neck cover has been made from lead foil. I have forgotten to make the hooks which hold up the flap, (bugger).
The reds are painted in Acrylic using the Andrea red set and the face has been painted in Oil's.
I have enjoyed this one and had my fix of red, now onto the next one.
    Thanks for looking in.
Because I broke the leather peak, I made a new one from lead foil. Not quite right but it got the old sweats look.

Nice work that Bob. The reds from that Andrea set look very good. Do you use them per the directions or have a little tinker?

Thanks Roger and yes I do tinker with them esp, the shadow colour, its not really dark enough for the deep shadows.

Cheers Mick, yep very pleased with this one.

Funnily enough it was the shadow colour that I thought was particularly well done..... not that there's anything wrong with the rest of it of course. :)

He looks really super Bob, I have just been comparing him with mine.
Love your reds, I think the shadows are just right, my peak broke as well, such thin resin, but I used plasticard. The neck shield I didn't know about so will have to make one and try and see some ref. concerning the hooks, thanks for that.

What's next on the bench mate??

Like you Geoff, I used to paint all my reds etc in oil but switched to acrylìc because of the very flat hues. I had a lot of trouble with blues too. I will have to rack my brain for the neck flap ref but some nice photos of originals exist in museums.
Thanks for the compliments, chuffed you like it.
    Best regards.
