    FIGURE CATEGORIES

    Any miniature figure, model or vignette that includes a figure is eligible to enter into this category. See Diorama category for large groupings
    1.OPEN AND PAINTERS FIGURE CATEGORIESfor any artist and modeler who considers their skill to be at an advanced level, professional as well as Master Figure artists will be competing in this category.
    1a. HISTORICAL PAINTERS - figures will be judged on painting quality only
    HISTORICAL OPEN – figures and groupings will be judged on creativity, modeling skill and painting skill

    1b. FANTASY/Sci Fi PAINTERS - figures will be judged on painting quality only
    FANTASY/Sci Fi OPEN – figures and groupings will be judged on creativity, modeling skill and painting skill

    2. STANDARD OPEN AND PAINTERS (includes historical, fantasy/sci-fi, dioramas, etc. - for accomplished artists, hobbyists and modelers, generally no professional or Master Figure artists will compete in this category.

    3. NOVICE- for beginning artists who would like to test their pieces in a competitive situation

    Due to popular demand, we have added separate Fantasy/Sci Fi categories in the main figure category. We have also added plastic Best in class Special awards where plaqueswill be given in lieu of prints.


    SCHEDULE

    Friday Night – Show opens at 6pm, Vendor area opens at 7pm. Dinner is pot luck, but everyone loves to go to Montana’s which is a few hundred feet down from the Freeport Inn (NOTE THAT MONTANA’S HAS MOVED ACROSS THE STREET FROM ITS OLD LOCATION).     Saturday Hours are 9am to 4pm. Judging begins at Noon.

    Saturday Seminar at 3:00pm– We are honored to have Master Italian Painter Ivo Preda attending the show this year and Ivo will present a 1 hour seminar on his work and the way in which he connects Napoleonic era research and history and uses it to create his masterpieces of conversion and original work. This is a rare opportunity to see and hear how one of the great Italian artists works. Check at the front desk for the room location.

    Saturday Dinner – This year’s dinner will be at either JC Cove or Riverside Grill on the Nautical Mile, which is within a mile of the Rec Center. 6:30 for cocktails. Rides are available from club members in case you do not have transportation. Charge is $40 per meal (unlimited soda, one beer or wine included courtesy of the club). Seating is limited, so please sign up early in the day at the front entrance desk.

    Figure Raffle/Auction


    - Raffles can be obtained in the admission area or at the Raffle Club Table.

    - The annual figure auction will be held around 2:30pm n or near the Competition Area.

    AWARDS-

    3 original caricatures created by Greg DiFranco from the American Revolution period, British 17th Light Dragoon Officer (Gold), British Drum Major (Silver), Loyalist Light Infantry Foot (Bronze).

    Awards will be presented at 5pm in the main entrance lounge area.
