Part 2 shows the face and Tschapka complete, unless anyone has any suggestions or spots something amiss.

I've almost finished the collar and next I will move onto the jacket before working outwards to the belts, equipment etc.

Looking great Roger. It's only my preference, but I would give the metals a wash of burnt umber to give more definition.

I've been looking at the metals and wondering what they need, that might be just the answer that has eluded me.

    I like the face, Roger!

One of the best faces I have seen from you.

Really nice work. I think you have to change the middle of the eagle into silver, and some more silvering.....It's not all gold that shine.
But i can be wrong. See picture
    450px-Tschapka_k_k_Ulanen_subaltern.jpg
And indeed some shading with a wash off raw umber will give some more depth.

    Thank you Janne,

Thank you Marc. It is all gold that shines on mine. :D

I know the photo you've posted and it is the tschapka of a landwehr uhlan regiment, different to the "regular" 2nd Uhlan regiment I am painting. No problem though, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Consider the raw umber wash done. :)

Thanks Rob. I think I am fast approaching the most challenging aspects of this bust, the belts and canteen.
