Julius II was not only a supporter of famous artists like Michelangelo or Raffaello but also, as most of the popes of that era, a warrior and a political leader. During 1506 a military campaign was carried out in order to get the rebel cities of Bologna and Forli back into the possesion of roman Pope. After this victorious campaign the Pope promoved the Cambrai League with the target to reduce the Venetian power in Italy, but when the french power become too strong the Pope in himself got as an allied of Venice.
Le figure is based on a 54mm venetian alberdier sculped by my friend (and planet member) Vincenzo with the flag in place of the albard and some feathers on the helmet. Hope you enjoy it ..
