I have now finished this one from from Pegaso, a 75mm figure. I have taken all the braid off and given him a fatigue coat worn by the other ranks. This was a joy to paint, although I did curse a few times.
I have added new sword slings from lead foil and scratched some buckle's.
I have just finished reading Ian Knight's book "zulu rising" and this renewed my interest in this period of history.

Nice one Bob. Well done on the sword slings, small details like this really raise the figure above the ordinary.
Particularly like the way he appears to be looking right along the barrel from under the peak, that's the critical requirement on this model (y)

A first class job on his one, Bob. My opinion is that
red, black and white are difficult colours to paint,
regarding figure painting. And as so many above
have stated, just a fine rendering of this famous
period in South Africa. The Miami Jayhawk

Thank you for taking the time to look at this one,
the reds were the Andrea red acrylic paint set and although I have only used it a few times,
    the results are worth it.
    Best regards
