Thanks Steve. Go on give one a go, they're inexpensive, there's a massive range of subjects to choose from and they're fun to paint, however, that's just my opinion :D

    Roger,
    Great work on the horse!

Thank you Marcel. Due to my poor research I have had to change which regiment is being depicted. I will need to repaint the saddlecloth and a couple of smaller details before moving onto the uniform. :(

At least I didn't get too far before noticing.

    Very promising paintwork sofar.
If you need repaint something, let it be a lesson for the future to research first before you slap any paint on a figure :D:D:D:D.

That sounds like a very good excuse to me mate :D

I assumed all Hussar regiments wore the pelisse (Pelz), sadly that wasn't the case in the German army. It's use was abolished in 1852. In 1865 the Lifeguard Hussars were permitted to wear it again and subsequently eight other regiments received it. The regiment I chose to paint, Nr.10, wasn't one of them :(

I remember a Royal Marine sergeant once telling me assumption is the mother of all **** ups. Sound advice, sadly forgotten until now.

    Roger.
