Hello Mat, the head is the original, i added the mustache and altered the shape and size of the hat.
The head is great, lots of details en expression, the art box might make it look like a little cartoonish, but it is actually not.
The original hat was in my humble opinion, a little too small but nothing that a quick fix can't do.
I have made a review of this figure if you are nterested and located on the open box/review seccion.
    Best regards

I have start it on the coat today.
I am.using a warm white for the coat , vallejo Buff gives me a nice base color , as for the lapels i am using vallejo game bone white .
My thinking behind that is that coats were sewn in different parts, generaly from the same fabric, but lapels were generally colored in the facing for each regiment , it will be a different fabric added to the coat.
Since this regiment had white lapels and violet or purple cuffs and piping at the lalels and pockets, i have lay the base color a tad different on the lapels, once i paint the coat i will balance them out to kinda blend in as close as possible but still different shade of warm white.

    Hello folks,
I have been working on the coat.
Lights and shadows virtually done, still need some tweaks here and there .
I have added the facing color on the cuffs, i had that color in mind since the very first day before i start painting it.
I love that purple, and it will give me a great deal of range from lights and shadows.

Tonight i have virtually finished the coat except the turnbacks and buttons.
    Cuffs in violet-purple are done.
For the x-bellts i am using a mix of vallejo Panzer aces german winter and a dab of buff.
For the back pack straps same base but added more buff.
For the vest and pants i am using vallejo Deck tan with tamiya flat base. 20160721_235039.jpg 20160721_235053.jpg

    Hello planeteers,
I have finished the pants and vest except the buttons.
I am working on the gaiters next, for the base color i decide to use pale blue /grey from vallejo.
The idea of this finished figure is to have a good but sublte different shades of white between coat, vest/pants and gIters.

    Hello folks,
Coat done, i have lighten up the warm white a little to give the figure a little smooth transition between whites.
Violet/purple facings are done, buttons done and fringe epaulettes are done.
Today i worked on the gaiters, they are done, but i want it to present this chap with a neat and clean look before i proceed to "dirt" his uniform off.
Next step is the sword and backpack.
