Three new sets of Gunthwaite figures are now available (each set has three figures).

These figures breaks new ground: they are our first figures produced in resin and they are our first First World War subjects. The figures are pilots based on a well-known photograph of No. 1 Squadron at Clairmarais South in July 1918. The Royal Air Force had been created in April 1918 and the squadron had been flying SE 5a since January 1918. The photo is interesting because it illustrates the variety of clothing worn on flying service during 1918, much of which had also been used in earlier periods of the war. The range of attire shown in the photograph is reflected the models.







The figures are 1/72 scale. The new figures will coincide neatly with the recent announcement by Airfix about the release of new 1/72nd scale First World War aircraft kits in 2016.
