Hello! Semyon Khohryakov was born in 1915 in a poor peasant family in the South of Syberia. His father was killed during the Civil War, mother died therefore Semyon was brought up in an orphanage. After he graduating in the technical school he started working as a locksmith, then was promoted up to the deputy of foreman.
In 1937 he was drafted in the Red Army. Took part in the conflict on Khalkin-Gol river in Mongolia (Nomongan incident – jap.), was awarded with Mongolian order «Polar Star».
When the Germans and their allies crossed the Soviet boarders Khohryakov served as a deputy of the commander of tank battalion. Fought against invaders near Minsk, Smolensk, Moskow. Was wounded several times.
Commander of the tank battalion S. Khohryakov was honored the title of the Hero of Soviet Union in 1944 for the personal courage and skilled command during the operation for liberating of Ukraine.
The next award (title of twice Hero of Soviet Union) was presented to major S. Khohryakov in 1945 for the operation for liberating Częstochowa (South Poland).
Guards Major Semen Khohryakov was killed in action 17 April 1945 near Kotbus (100 km from Berlin). Figure 54 mm, white metal, tempera, oil.
