I have hum and ha'd and decided to post this. Even tho it isn't as complicated or intricate as most of the sculpting up here, it gives me the chance (as this is my first full figure attempt) to get use to the putty and also have a go at some water effects.
I have decided to do this scene out of Green Eggs and Ham
Milliput was used for the base and then green stuff to finished.
sam i am is about 60mm plate to toe and the other guy is about 100mm hat to toe.
i have almost painted sam i will post pics when finished.
    Any advise/praise/criticism greatly accepted.
Also any hints or advice on water effects would be helpful, i have looked at some options but most seem best suited for smaller scale figures, I have a couple of idea but not 100%

    Sam I am, Sam I am. . . Oh Gee. . . I do NOT like
Green Eggs and Ham. Ah yes, my daughter is now
42 and lives 1,300 miles away from old Dad. But indeed,
I did read those Dr. Zeus books, especially Sam I am, Green
et cetera, to my daughter. And we both loved the experience.
Zane, what you have fabricated here is very endearing . . . to
so many of us "Daddies" who raised little children into
adulthood. I applaud your efforts, and find joyful memories
surrounding what you have created. It was fun, once again,
to relive those memories of so so many years ago. I'm not
a sculptor myself, so I admire your efforts even that much
    more. Congrats to you sir,

Sculpt is looking very well, very much like the picture from the book.
Will you also be making the splashing water as a base?

    Cheers

Adrian, I had thought about having the water as the base but, the large pin which will support both figures will be seen, so i'm going to have a wooden base with the water splashing over the edges.

Just an update on where i'm at. Have decided to do cartoon water instead of the realistic water, waiting for the base to be made so I can start incorporating the waves/splashes.
Also need to re-evaluate pin connecting the 2 figures, it will need another pin to stop sam swiveling on just the 1 existing pin.

    cheers zane

Great stuff Zane. Very creative and certainly different from the usual stuff we see on pF. Keep up the good work.

Dear Zane - Ok, maybe this isn't the macho military stuff we all do. But - excellent modelling is excellent modelling. And you've demonstrated this in buckets here mate.

Exceptionally well done. Sculpting like that is far from easy. (y)

thankyou blind pew, I started this project as a stepping stone towards an actual figure which i'm sure is going to be a lot harder.

thankyou andy, this has been fun and a bit harder than first thought but, what I learn I can put to use for the next figure.

    regards zane
