My first flat - Ney in Russia after Yvon. About 54mm. Arylics and inks. After dull coating I added Liquitex Iridescent White for the snow. Mounted on a foam meat tray to add to the snow effect. I might play with the faces a bit more but essentially done.

In a bit Roger. I have two more GE vignettes in 30mm - Closing the Gates at Hougoumont and the Death of Ferdinand Lariboissiere at Borodino. But not right away. I will turn back to Lt. paulee in the short run.

Photos above are too dark vs the eye, so I will try to post something better later.

Went a bit quickly as I was interested in seeing the result. I would do a lot differently next time out. But I learned a lot. :)

Another two easy ones... I don't think. Looking forward to seeing those when you're ready to have another go Colin.

Very nice work! Since I've just started a flat for the first time - Napoleon Crossing the Alps - it's an inspiration.
BTW, who made this flat and Closing the Gates at Hougoumont. I'd like to get copies for my table...

Great work! And a lot more enjoyable and relaxing to paint than the Alexandros metal Ney figure, I should wager (same pose pretty much). That one's a pig to put together.

Love it Colin! I thought about picking one up in Chicago, but ran out of funds ( as it stands, I'm already in the dog house because the visa bill came yesterday).

I really like how you've achieved depth in this piece, and it looks awesome in the frame. I'll have to give flats a try soon. Good luck at the Toronto show if you're attending.
