I showed you the WIP versions of this, so thought I should show you the completed Legionnaire. He's a private in the Legion of the 1880s in Algeria. Equipped with:
    -1874 Gras rifle
-1872 dark blue capote or over-coat
    -1879 haversack
-the "de Negrier" canvas ammo pouch with six metal buttons
    -1879 de trellis blanc trousers
-1878 casque coloniaux - French version of the pith helmet
Scale 1/16th. All original. Mostly made of MS. The photo background is an Algerian dry lake in the desert.
This is a commission piece. It will be mounted on one of Ken Thomas's superb bases. Victor Wong, a friend and painter from Singapore did most of the painting, with an assist from an Omaha painter co-worker friend, Charlie Duckworth. Superb photography by Patrick Student, another Omaha friend and co-worker.

    All the best,
    Dan
