This is a 54mm figure from Ulrich's Kaiser's Army range. Only the face has been painted with oils so far, the rest is base coated with acrylics. I'll try and post regular updates as I think I'm going to need all the help I can get. :D

    Roger.

PS This is the third attempt.

    Hi Roger
It's a nice figure to work with but I am not as brave as you to paint in oils, I take my hat off to you.
    Cheers

    Roger!
I am truly surprised by this revelation, you and 54mm ?? ....... However, I must ask the question! ..How much 'Mythos', (Exactly), did you consume whilst on holiday??? God knows you rubbed it in enough! (quote) 'Let me have another 'Mythos', whilst I relax,.. and I will get back to you'!:ROFLMAO: :D.

However, as much as I am reeling with this information, Its a very good start! .. the face is a 'Tad', ruddy and glossy, especially the cheeks which I feel require toning down and softening!;) :D

The base coat is looking the part!(y)

    Gob-smacked!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I hope this isn't a big build up for a big fall but we'll see.

Mark, Mythos, me??? Plenty! I brought some Raki home for when this becomes too stressful...... or brush cleaning. :D

Ooops, all the talk of Mythos made me forget about the face, yes they are a bit ruddy and glossy... like mine. I'll see what it looks like when dry and then try and work out what needs to be done then.

    Hi Roger

    Good start !!!
why not use a mixture of acrylic for the uniform?
    base- German uniform
lights - base + golden flesh
shadows - black + blue prussia

    Vallejo or Andrea Colors

Thanks very much Vitalino. I have already started highlighting and shading with a thin layer of oil so I had better carry on this way, thank you for your advice all the same it's much appreciated.
