    Greetings all,

Have begun work on the latest addition to the Yorktown diorama project. This will be a field officer for the Royal Deux-Ponts regiment. Again, this is a conversion from a 1767 uniform (Modeles et Allures) using MS and green stuff. Head and hands from JMD...arms are scratch built. Debating whether he's got a cane or a sword on his shoulder. Comments and feedback always appreciated.

Nice Conversion. Only the right arm seems to thin and a little bit too long.
    Anyway goodwork so far!

Daniel, looking good so far. Check your anatomy charts re the length of the arms. I would also use MS instead of Duro for areas that might need sanding. It's hard with duro

Lennart, guy and Stephen, thankx for your comments.
After i read the post from Lennart and looking at the pic of this officer,i realized that what i was afraid of was true, the arm seemed too long, but i re-measured and it wasn't,the hand was too long and on top of that the cuffs were not yey applied.
I did some adjustments and now it looks much better and normal;).
I do use greenstuff(duro)for a variety of garments on this figures, good example are cuffs and collars on the coat, but is true what you are saying Stephen,Ms is much better all around since duro is really hard to sand.
Thank you all for your constructive critique and will keep working to improve.
    Regards.

I've followed your postings with interest and look forward to seeing the completed project ,however I think perhaps you need to have another go at the arms with ms the left forearm is bent unnaturally and the elbow needs to be more pointed

    Daniel,

Does the left arm really look that natural to you? It should have more of a point at the elbow.

    I'm not criticizing, just commenting.

Jason, you are absolutelly right.Actually my friend told me last week that it needed to be more pointy at the elbow but i thougt that it was not very noticeable.
So i am going to bite the bullet and add more Ms so it looks right.
I really appreciate your input and any critique since it will help me to get better and better.
    Best regards.

Rocky, thanks for taking the time to post.
As for the diorama i am working on,there will be almost 42 figures of different regiments, that will include the regiment of Royal Deux-ponts,Soissonois,Saintongue and some scattered officers of the Gatenois and royal artillerie with 2 cannons.
Apart from this,it will be few of the general staff and commanders(including George Washington and Rochambeau).
Maybe i will finish one day!!:D.
    Lennart,thank for your comment!:)
    Regards.

Field Officer, Royal Deux-Ponts, Yorktown 1781 (Finished)

    Greetings all,

Finally, after several adjustments to the hues on the coat, this field officer is ready to be added to the Yorktown diorama. Decided to go ahead with an officer’s cane on his shoulder and the fusil relaxed by his side….as always, thoughts, comments, feedback and questions are welcomed!

    Regards - Daniel
