    Looks great Martin!

I wonder if the vodka takes on a particular flavor from the container.

Yup, that looks like some fine sculpting from Markus. You're in business once again Martin!

Can't wait to watch the continuing saga.

    Are Trolls like 'Gummi Bears'?

    Too bad Martin!

I miss Germany! The bier, the women, gummi bears, jagerschnitzel mit pommes frits, the bier, the women, jagermeister, the bier,.................

I miss it too Joe. Mostly the women though. I can buy beer anywhere and make my own schnitzel... but the women of Munich are only available in Munich

Let's have a closer look at the parts of the Cossack musician...:

First of all we habe a head with much charakter...:

    [IMG][IMG]

    Lower body and legs...:

    [IMG][IMG]

The Kaftan shows the historically correct side slits with buckles - and the folds of the pants has become very gentle...:

    [IMG][IMG]

The boots - sculpted with deep wrinkles as "soft leather"...:

    [IMG][IMG]

The saber - an Ottoman "Kilic" or "Kilitsch"...:

One hightlight of the kit is the "Kobza"...:

BTW: This is NOT a casting mistake but the place where the sleeve is resting on the instrument later...:

    The body...:

    [IMG][IMG]

    Hands...:

    [IMG][IMG]

Arms - with the typical (and korrect) triangular cuffs...:

    [IMG][IMG]

And at least a nice sculpted tree stump, the later seat of our Cossack...:

    [IMG][IMG]

    Summary: A wonderful sculpted figure!

That's a very nice, clean casting, Martin! Recently I've started working on some of the anime kits in my stash, and I can appreciate a clean, fine resin casting.

    Prost!

Sorry, I have to return to this topic. I have been trying to recapture that in my life, ever since I lived in Minga as a student. I would love to get back, especially in the summer, and visit the city again, and visit den Heiligen Berg zu Andechs, and go hiking and climbing. Maybe this summer, for Kulmbach.

Till then, I have the beer garden in my backyard. Winter is on its way out, spring will soon be here, the old maple spreads its arms and gives me a shady place to sit and enjoy a beer or two. And it's very pleasant in the evenings.

    Prost!

I still have great memories from my time playing hockey in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the mid 80's. The kind I can dredge up when I'm having a crappy day and put a big stupid grin on my face :sneaky:

Hockey, beer and German beauties... Ahhhh that was the life:love:

I have started to glue the two halves of the lower body and legs together. Of course, again with two-component adhesive ...:

There was a casting form-separation here between the two halves remains a gap ....:

I must rid the gap because the Cossack caftans in the 17th century still not had seam or slit at the back ...:

With "Milliput" it is quickly done ...:

The back has been treated too, but only the upper part which ist visible later ...:

As our friend is indeed sitting on a tree stump, the lower part of the seam is invisible later.

So, for the rest of the day and tomorrow I will not come to work.
Therefore, it is here only continue on Thursday ...

After a less beautiful day yesterday I can today go on with my figure.

I've only washed it, setted it with a toothpick on the working block and finally primed ...:

The toothpick is just so long that the coattails still "float" just above the block ...:

Today I have underpainted the legs - with this acrylic paint here ...:

When I look at the pictures now, I think the final version of the pants - with oil paints - will be a little brighter and - hopefully! - more luminous. To me it all looks to "brownish" ...
