Painting this 1/10 scale bust was a pleasure. Was able to use many paints that I had never opened until they were needed on this piece. Must say painting lady's is a challenge. Painted with acrylic's and used printers inks on the metal. This bust was sculpted by Carl Reid and is in the www.unitedempireminiatures.com line. Carlota Empress Consort of Mexico 1864-1867, wife of Maximillian I Emperor of Mexico 1864-1867.
    Thanks for looking,
    Mike

    Very nicely painted throughout Mike.
I particularly like the effect you've achieved with the pearls.

Excellent painting of a rather enigmatic woman. Daughter of King Leopold I of Belgium, she outlived her ill fated husband by sixty years, dying in Belgium in 1927! She wrote some books about their Mexican adventure and only recently a decent biography has put her so-called madness in the right perspective. But most important of all: this is a very well painted bust, congratulations!

A really fantastic job Mike! I love everything about it. A beautiful example of "blending" using acrylics.

    Well done,
    Ken

you get the pictures with the camera vertical. Pc normally redirect the photos automatically.
To have the pics in the correct shape you have to modify a little bit it. It's happening also to me...

    good job anyway
