Hi all

Recovered from the lurgy ( Started with a cough on the 2nd Jan ) so pulled this little gem out of the stash after seeing something Carl Barton is working on ( )....

I made a couple of tiny modifications, removed a couple of the badges and filled all but one of the holes in the T-shirt....

Primed with "Double-Acrylic" car primer I sprayed a set of base colours on..

Base AV Mahogany Sand
Mid AV Sunny Skin Tone
High AV Basic Skin Tone

Then I added some AV Dark Prussian Blue to her eyesockets and to the scalp area as a base for hair stubble.

GW Blood Red was used to redden the nose, cheeks and lips.

Over these crude base colours I used Hair brushes to build up and refine the skin colours with the addition of..

Top High AV Light Flesh.

The eyes are conventionally painted except you may notice the pure white highlights are also on the whites of her eyes, this has hopefully made them look bright ( and young )

At this stage I still need to get some of the transitions a bit smoother and then I'll be adding the eye make up and the stubble on her scalp

Very nice start Mark, I like the way you have used some really bold colours for the basecoating, but knowing you, you will blend all these in and make a superb job of this interesting bust

She is out of my usual area of interest and she is a piece done just for fun and to re-charge my batteries.

Anyway I have just about settled on the skin areas, the forehead needs a little work to soften odd bits and the mouth area needs some work. Started working on the stubble, mainly working from the back to the front with that so not much to see.

A punishingly cruel close up .... But it shows what needs work
