Besides a heap of 30mm flats I am also doing some work on this 90mm flat of a Bavarian Chevauleger c.1908.

Roger, as I've never painted a flat before and it's very interesting to see how you've used a card with a slit cut for the base for spraying the primer, neat idea. Are you going to continue painting him against the card almost as you would a picture. BTW great start, nice skintones.

    Cheers Ken

Roger, I'm with Ken. Curious as to the card backing, do you paint with the flat on it?

    Cheers Ken, Carl.

The initial idea was just to spray prime the figure mounted on the card. I thought I would have a go at the actual painting of the flat like this and it does feel comfortable. I'll carry on like this I think, either 'til it's not comfortable anymore or finished. :D

    Hi Roger,

Great start to this figure, really like the way you have handled the face, look forward to seeing it progress. I'm only just getting into flats so the posts will be followed with interest.

Still some more work to do on the horse but I have managed to get quite a bit of it done.

I would go a step furhter with the white. But you know me, always something to nagging on.

Roger is correct, Keith. If your interest is piqued, consider joining our Society. It's a great way to see lots of great work and learn how to paint.

    Yes,
You "must" go further with the white. It's to grey in my opinion.
But give a more 3D effect i think it is necessary.
