    I'd call it "Cobbers" which is old fashioned Aussie expression for "mates". To me the bust is all about the bond between the trooper and his mount.

    Hi Guys,

    Verbal update for now...waterbottle and belt all finished looking at the bandolier leather a bit more , waist belt and trouser all done , arms and apple rebate coated ready for the final push ...then it's mount up lad .

    Going to use Tony's suggestion of Cobbers on another project ...coming to a forum near you ..soon

    This one is going to be "Spirit"

    Bit late I know but here are a couple of update pictures , next up will be the bandolier belt end , buckles , ID tags, the braces and arms then the apple ...mount it up and thats it!!!

    Hi Nap,

    Looking good mate. Just one small point. The Rising Sun badge fixed to the turned up edge of the slouch hat should probably be dulled down and look less metallic. The badges weren't solid brass but were anodised (dipped) in brass. The brass wore off pretty quickly exposing the dull, brown metal underneath.

    Appreciate your comments , it is now finished and all together ...going to leave it for a day so the epoxy will be totally set.

    Must admit it looks good ..I am glad I went for a different coloured shirt .
