Hey guys. Relatively new to figure painting. I have a few figures I would like to get started on. One of them is a bust that I got a lot of super glue stuck into some crevices, how can I apply NPR to the affected areas without ruining the rest of the stuff that needs to say in place? I also have this same issue with getting overzealous on some of my Alpine Miniatures 1/16th scale figures. Thanks for the help in advance.

Also what is the best filler to use for resin? I have tried some squadron WHITE putty is that okay or should I use something else. Thanks again. Jim.

I am working on Alpine's 16027 right now. Should I mount the gun PRIOR too or AFTER painting? What about the head? Thanks again.

    Hello jimz66.
I can't help with the superglue but what I use is the superglue gel as it will not run all over the place. As for Putty it should work fine, I myself use white Miliput.
If you can get to most of the uniform with a paint brush, with the gun in place then go ahead, if not leave it off, paint where you have to then attach the gun in place

    Hi Jim,
I use the liquid superglue and apply it using a Glue Looper which directs tiny amounts of CA exactly where required.
Just Google 'Glue Looper' and you'll get lots of hits and videos.
Once used, the loop gets cleaned with a flame (I use a match).
One thing to be aware of is that the original item is brass and will degrade with usage. Version 2 is steel, and therefore much more durable.

    Cheers,

Or use a sewing needle and cut halfway through the eye part, so you end up with a prong. It picks up enough glue and won't run.

    What a great forum.

I been doing this hobby 40 + years and never thought of
such a simple and commonsense tip.

    Great stuff guys.

    Paul.

I would not recommend Squadron Putty either green or white for any hobby
job. I would suggest either two part putty Magic Sculpt or Aves Apoxy Sculpt.
Altho I live in the USA, I understand that Hannants (sorry, brain isn't in gear, and
I forgot the correct spelling) in the UK now sells Aves Apoxy Sculpt.

Remember also, that we learn by doing. And it is OK to make mistakes. We learn
just as much from our mistakes as we do from our successes. You have to put
the time in, to really grow and move forward. Good luck,
