One of the blokes at work asked me if I would paint a figure that a bought years ago, of course I said I would and this is what I have, the largest heaviest chunk of metal figure I've set eyes upon.
It's gluing at the moment although a welder would have been more appropriate but when I've got it assembled I'll post some more pics.
I have no idea of it's age, 80's at a guess, or the sculpter but it's 120mm of heavy metal!

There's obviously some filling etc.to do but you can see now that the figure is based on Richard Caton-Woodville's A Gentleman in Khaki.

I promise not to mention the extra dimension...damn, did it again!!

Everytime you do a "round" I wonder why you persist with flats....right up until I see how beautiofully you paint flats.

Can't wait to see this one finished.

The pose is similar to Andrea's 54mm Seaforth Highlander in Sudan

I'd say SITAMS are almost certainly not in business anymore. The only mention I found of them on the web was some of there toy soldiers on a toy auction site.

I hope yu have re-inforced the table legs for this one! that's a awesome amount of white metel. (I have built the Andrea 120mm BMW & M/C crew & that's heavy!)
    Look forward to the updates...:)

Thanks for looking in Mark & Eduardo.
I need to do a bit of filling where the arms join before painting starts but watch out for updates. :)

Roger I know the very figure you are talking about (or even painting). Was staying at my cousins in Lerwick when I saw this late one night. Very large and very nice figure. around early 80s if I remember.
Left the next morning and forgot for awhile but it was advertised in Mil Mod at one time under the name you used. I believe it was made in Shetland but when I tried toget one they had vanished.

Nice figure and I look forward to see you paint it. Just remember you need to paint round the back as well.

Cheers Don, once it's finished it will be going back to the Shetlands to it's owner. :)

    Hi Roger,
Nice project, look forward to seeing you get some colour on this one, mind you'll need some blacksmiths tongs to hold while painting. It would be nice to see an updated version as per the box illustration, in the same scale but in resin.
    cheers
    Richie
