Pretty close to completion. I see a few bits that could stand some sanding and steel wool. Just about ready for the painter.

1/16th scale using a Verlinden Napoleonic horse converted to suit. The saddle and other horse bits, bags, blankets, etc., are sculpted. No reins yet because fitting them requires the figure to be painted first. The figure uses a head and rifle from kits. Just about everything else was sculpted using a mix of Magic Sculpt and Kneadatite.

This piece is intended as an homage to the Ron Marshall illustration attached.

    Hope you like it!

    All the best,
    Dan

Many thanks Martin, Bob, Steve and Zastrow!

Steve - No intention to go commercial with it. I plan to have it painted and show it at some figure get-togethers. Eventually I would like to sell it. Interested?

    Really good work Dan.
You certainly captured the fatigue of the trooper and his mount.
    Very nice piece, love it.

Thanks Pete! So am I. Edorta Garcia and I have ( I believe) just reached an agreement. Now if the postal gorillas and their demolition machines will just cooperate.

FYI - Edorta pointed out some debris and hairs on the hat and one arm. I just didn't see them before I took the photos. All of the debris has been removed.

    All the best,
    Dan

I really like this depiction-- captures the poignancy in the relationship between a trooper and his horse. Also, am heartened at the focus on WW1 in Middle East, a theater underrepresented in both commericial and "original" figures. Kudos.

Many thanks ometz! I completely agree that Egypt, Palestine, etc., are under - represented in figures. Any thoughts about what other figures from that theater might be interesting?

    All the best,
    Dan
