    Hi Guys,

Here's my latest. Its an oldie but a goodie. Andrea's Seaforth Highlander. I painted this for a friend. I hope he likes it. I think I may have gotten the better half of the deal on the trade.

    Painted in acrylics.

    All comments are welcome

I added some picture of the Kilt to give you a better feel for it.

    Thanks for looking

Nice job Mike, your friend will surely enjoy getting this guy! Socks turned out nice with that difficult pattern. Can't tell from pics but is he missing eyebrows?

VERY nice painting. Paticularly the tartan pattern. How did you pull this off?

    Hi Jim,

You have a couple of questions.

    1. How did I pull off the Tartan?
    2. Colors used for the Jacket

    All paints were Vallejo's

Tartan: for the base I started out with a mix of Dark Prussian Blue and Black, a drop of brown with anti shine additive added. I used field Gray for the greenish cross patterns. Thinned black for the smaller lines. I also used red and a mix of yellow tan and white for the Seaforth colors. To finish it off I used a galze to bring it all together.

For the shirt I used a mix of English Uniform and Yellow Tan as the base 70/30 approximately. Highlighted with basic skintone. For shadows I added violet red and black.

    I hope this helps.

Sweet, Mike! I think if you outlined his web gear with something dark like german camo black brown it would give it some "pop." See you in a couple weeks.

Push that envelope Mike. That is the best interpretation of that figure I have seen. I will see you in a couple of weeks too.--
