    Hi everyone,
I have just joined the forum. I have been modelling for many years, I have done a lot of plastic and also quite a few wooden ships but this is the first venture into figures. I have just received the RP Model "Douglas Bader in a Spitfire cockpit". I have a question regarding this particular model. It appears that he is wearing his overall that is very often seen in photos of him. What was the colour of the overall ? I see from a review in this forum that it was a kind of a "yellowish" type of colour but I may be wrong. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Hi Steve
    First off welcome aboard :)

I've not seen the model you mention, but believe that Hugo is a member so hopefully he'll chip in at some point.
Bader was a pre-war aerobatic pilot and like many often wore the white overalls which were used. These were seen in photo's of pilots up till about 1940 and I understand were a sign of status amongst pilots.
I've attached a link about RAF flying dress which has some useful information to keep you amused 'til you get a definitive answer

    Cheers
    Paul

Well I finished my first figure and I am quite pleased with how it turned out, especially the leather parts. Still have a lot to learn though when I look at the quality of some of the figures on the forum, but I did it for my enjoyment and really enjoyed it. 20180428_090138.jpg
I was really impressed with the quality of this kit and in fact have bought my next one, the Harald Hardrada bust which I have already started. Hope you like my first effort.

Apologies for the lack of info, the kit is made by RP Models and is 1/10 scale. I painted it using enamels and acrylics.

I have almost finished the 1/10 scale Harald Hardrada bust from RP Models. This is only the 2nd figure that I have done and I really enjoyed the experience.
Hugo, you have certainly produced a masterpiece here, I just hope I did it justice.

Hi Steve, how did you get on with the cockpit decals, are they individual (as per decals for aircraft models) or do you need to cut each one out from a continuous sheet of decal paper, if you know what i mean.

    Hi Steve,
I actually got on very well with them, they are individual and they went on very well. Just cut them very close to the edge so that they fit in the raised bevel.
